Baby Room - Activities
Two examples of activities used within our baby room are:
Treasure Basket
This is for our non-mobile children giving them the opportunity to explore and investigate. The babies explore natural materials without adult intervention. The adult will smile and offer encouragement.
The basket comprises of lemons, coral, chains, fir cones, bottle brushes and a variety of wooden objects. No more than three children will use the basket at any one time.
There are many benefits from this type of play. It encourages the children to explore, interact and concentrate on what they are working with. Their hand to eye co-ordination is developed as is their sense of well being, as they have learned by themselves for themselves.
